Overview of Required Documents
For temporary residence, Migraciones requires different documents depending on nationality, category, and personal situation. The exact list should be checked before travel.
1. Identity and Entry
You need a valid passport or another accepted identity document. Depending on nationality, a visa or consular visa may also be relevant.
2. Civil Status
Typical documents include birth certificate and, depending on the situation, marriage certificate, divorce record, or documents for minor children. Foreign civil records usually need apostille or legalization.
3. Criminal and Security Records
Police clearance or criminal record certificates from the home country or countries of recent residence are commonly required, along with local or INTERPOL-related records in Paraguay.
4. Activity or Solvency
Migraciones may request evidence of profession, self-employment, business activity, income, assets, or other financial solvency. The right evidence depends on the case.
5. Health and Local Declarations
Depending on the category, health certificates, affidavits, or additional local forms may be required.
Apostille and Translation
Documents issued abroad must be correctly apostilled or legalized. If they are not in Spanish or Portuguese, a Spanish translation is normally required.
