Taking Pets to Paraguay
Want to bring your dog, cat, or other pet to Paraguay? It's possible but requires careful preparation.
Requirements
- Valid vaccination booklet with current vaccinations
- Rabies vaccination (at least 30 days, maximum 12 months before entry)
- Microchip (ISO standard)
- Health certificate from veterinarian (not older than 10 days)
- SENACSA import permit
Step by Step
1. Vet Visit Get all vaccinations updated and obtain a health certificate.
2. SENACSA Permit The Paraguayan authority SENACSA must approve the import. We support you with the application.
3. Book Flight Not all airlines transport animals. We advise on the right airline.
4. Arrival in Paraguay Documents must be presented to SENACSA at the airport.
Costs
Costs vary by animal size and airline. Budget approx. 200-500 euros for transport plus document and permit fees.
